All attendees must log-on through their own email – attendees may not watch together if they wish to earn continuing education credit. HalfMoon Education Inc. must be able to prove attendance if either the attendee or HalfMoon Education Inc. is audited.

Certificates of completion can be downloaded in PDF form upon passing a short quiz. A link to the quiz will be sent to each qualifying attendee immediately after the webinar. The certificate can be downloaded from the Results page of the quiz upon scoring 80% or higher.

This webinar is open to the public and is designed to qualify for 7.0 PDHs for professional engineers and 7.0 HSW continuing education hours for licensed architects in all states that allow this learning method. Please refer to specific state rules to determine eligibility.

Owner of Building Performance Services LLC

Brad Cook is the owner of Building Performance Services LLC, a BPI certified home performance contracting company that provides energy assessments and comprehensive weatherization for homes and businesses. Since 2017, he has also served as the facilities manager and an instructor at Yestermorrow Design/Build School where he has taught on a variety of topics, including HVAC, plumbing, building envelopes, and tiny house design and construction. Brad has extensive experience in education, including serving as a project director and instructor at Yestermorrow from 1986 to 1992 when where taught courses on construction, energy, plumbing, safety, and other subjects. Prior to running BPS, he owned and operated a home repair and inspection business for many years. Brad has continued to develop his skills by training in Infrared thermography level I, residential ventilation, heat pumps, and alternative heating strategies.

Course Title: Tiny House Design and Construction

Delivery Method: Live Online

Course Description: This seven-hour course analyzes code-compliant design and construction of tiny houses, from the trailer or foundation it is built on to the installation to MEP systems. The course will first explain what a tiny house is and how it should operate, and then dives deep into specific design strategies and considerations.

Learning Objectives:

Learning Objective 1:
Learners will be able to define what a tiny house is, identify typical features, discuss zoning issues and comply with building and energy codes.

Learning Objective 2:
Learners will be able to analyze the different types of tiny houses, including those on foundations and those on wheels, and discuss mobility considerations.

Learning Objective 3:
Learners will be able to examine tiny house design and construction, including framing, thermal envelope, windows, doors, and interior and exterior finishes.

Learning Objective 4:
Learners will be able to evaluate electrical, plumbing (water supply and wastewater), and HVAC systems for tiny houses.
