Principal and Managing Director with Walter P Moore’s Diagnostics Group, in Atlanta, GAMs. Abubakar is a Principal and Managing Director with Walter P Moore’s Diagnostics Group, where she leads teams specializing in forensic engineering, building enclosure, and structural assessments. Her work focuses on evaluating damage mechanisms, developing repair and resilience strategies, and advising insurers, adjusters, and property owners following major natural disasters. With a background that bridges structural engineering and insurance consulting, Ms. Abubakar has overseen investigations related to earthquake, wind, flood, and fire events, including multi-site loss assessments and large-scale catastrophe response efforts. She also serves as immediate past Chair of a Committee governing Structures Maintenance & Construction, advancing best practices for infrastructure resilience.
Donna Friis, P.E., DBIA, F.SEI, F.ASCE
Principal and Senior Project Manager in the Diagnostics Group of Walter P Moore, in Orlando, FLMs. Friis is a Principal and Senior Project Manager in the Diagnostics Group of Walter P Moore with 28 years of experience in structural engineering, forensic investigations, and litigation support. She brings deep expertise in structural systems, construction administration, and building envelope performance, including waterproofing and water intrusion mitigation. Over the past eight years, Ms. Friis’ practice has centered on forensic engineering, evaluating construction defects and weather-related damage, performing detailed cause-and-origin analyses, and developing practical, defensible repair recommendations. Her comprehensive understanding of construction materials, field practices, and governing codes positions her as a trusted technical advisor to attorneys and insurers managing complex construction-related claims.
