All attendees must log-on through their own email – attendees may not watch together if they wish to earn continuing education credit. HalfMoon Education Inc. must be able to prove attendance if either the attendee or HalfMoon Education Inc. is audited.

Certificates of completion can be downloaded in PDF form upon passing a short quiz. A link to the quiz will be sent to each qualifying attendee immediately after the webinar. The certificate can be downloaded from the Results page of the quiz upon scoring 80% or higher.

Webinars are presented via GoToWebinar, an easy-to-use application that can be run on most systems and tablets. Continuing Education Credit Information

This webinar is open to the public and is designed to qualify for 6.0 PDHs for professional engineers and 6.0 HSW continuing education hours for licensed architects in all states that allow this learning method. Please refer to specific state rules to determine eligibility.

Mary Gotti

Independent Lighting Consultant

Ms. Gotti was the manager of the GE Lighting Institute in Cleveland, Ohio. She was responsible for the overall operation and curriculum development for this training and education center, which hosted over 4,000 visitors a year. She worked in the lighting business of GE for almost 40 years. She held a number of positions in lamp technology and marketing, including lamp development engineer for incandescent and metal halide lamps, research physicist, senior product and application specialist, and manager of lighting education. She has BS and MS degrees in Physics and an MBA degree from John Carroll University in Cleveland, Ohio. Ms. Gotti served on the Board of Directors of the IES for five years, and on the executive committee of the National Lighting Bureau. She is lighting certified (LC) by NCQLP (National Council on Qualifications for the Lighting Professions). Ms. Gotti is currently an independent lighting consultant.

Course Title: Sustainable Interior and Exterior Lighting Design

Course Description: This six-hour course explains the fundamentals of lighting from a design and sustainability perspective and analyzes sustainable interior and exterior lighting components and designs that comply with applicable codes, standards and efficiency measures.

Learning Objectives:

Learning Objective 1:
Learners will be able to compare the aesthetics and sustainability of various lighting options such as incandescent, fluorescent, LED and other sources.

Learning Objective 2:
Learners will be able to discuss the codes, standards and sustainability measures related to exterior lighting and compare lighting components, fixtures and controls.

Learning Objective 3:
Learners will be able to define the desired lighting characteristics of interior lighting and comply with applicable codes, standards and sustainability measures.

Learning Objective 4:
Learners will be able to discuss daylighting as a method of interior lighting and its principles, benefits, design and technologies.
