All attendees must log-on through their own email – attendees may not watch together if they wish to earn continuing education credit. HalfMoon Education Inc. must be able to prove attendance if either the attendee or HalfMoon Education Inc. is audited. 

Certificates of completion can be downloaded in PDF form upon passing a short quiz. A link to the quiz will be sent to each qualifying attendee immediately after the webinar. The certificate can be downloaded from the Results page of the quiz upon scoring 80% or higher.

This webinar is open to the public and is designed to qualify for 2.0 PDHs for professional engineers, 2.0 HSW continuing education hours for licensed architects, and 2.0 HSW continuing education hours for landscape architects in all states that allow this learning method. Speakers

Scott Gorneau, P.E.

Vice President, Convergent Water Technologies

Mr. Gorneau is responsible for offering innovative green infrastructure/low impact stormwater solutions that enable new applications and raise the bar on performance, cost effectiveness, and verification. He previously served as national manager of ACF Environmental/Ferguson Waterworks and as regional vice president for FABCO Industries where he was responsible for engineering design, specification, and installation of manufactured stormwater management systems. Mr. Gorneau earned a BS degree in Biological Systems Engineering and an MS degree in Agricultural and Biological Systems Engineering from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln which provided the necessary knowledge for him to launch his career into the technical sales and specified engineered products industry. He spent the subsequent time since graduation gaining experience and expanding his knowledge of the industry on a wide variety of civil and environmental engineering design projects for private and public sector clients. Mr. Gorneau is a registered professional engineer in Maine and New Hampshire, and he is a Maine certified stormwater inspector. He has been a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), serving as section president in 2014.

Course Title: Stormwater BMPs: Pretreatment to Green Infrastructure (GI) and Biofiltration Systems

Course Description: This two-hour course focuses on pretreatment strategies and system designs that improve the function of green infrastructure and biofiltration systems in managing stormwater quality and volume.

Learning Objectives: 

Learning Objective 1: Learners will be able to assess various types of pretreatment systems and their role in improving green infrastructure performance to select the appropriate system.

Learning Objective 2: Learners will be able to discuss design principles and system sizing considerations for biofiltration and bioretention applications.

Learning Objective 3: Learners will be able to analyze installation and maintenance techniques to enhance system performance.

Learning Objective 4: Learners will be able to examine case studies of real-world applications of pretreatment and biofiltration systems.
