Each webinar session earns continuing education credit and can be registered for individually. All attendees must log-on through their own email – attendees may not watch together if they wish to earn continuing education credit. HalfMoon Education Inc. must be able to prove attendance if either the attendee or HalfMoon Education Inc. is audited.

Certificates of completion will be provided for each webinar attended and will be sent via email in PDF form about five business days after the conclusion of the series.

Webinars are presented via GoToWebinar, an easy-to-use application that can be run on most systems and tablets. Instructions and login information will be provided in an email sent close to the date of the webinar. It is highly recommended that you download, install and test the application before the webinar begins by clicking on the link in the email.

Continuing Education Credit Information

This webinar is open to the public and is approved by the South Carolina Commission on CLE and Specialization for 6.5 CLE hours, which includes 1.0 ethics credit. Course approval for North Carolina attorneys is applied for and pending.

This seminar offers 6.5 PDHs to South Carolina professional engineers, to whom the subject matter is professionally relevant. Educators and courses are not subject to preapproval in South Carolina.

HalfMoon Education has applied for continuing education course approval from the South Carolina Board of Board of Registration for Geologists. Geologists are encouraged to confirm course approval prior to registering for this event. Current approval status is available at www.halfmoonseminars.org.

Participation will be monitored, and completion certificates will be available after the webinar for individuals who complete the entire event, respond to all the monitoring prompts and earn 80% on the quiz that follows the presentation (multiple attempts allowed).

With experience in construction and as a former registered professional geologist, he has represented insurance companies, contractors and individuals as a civil litigation trial attorney specializing in construction and environmental law since 2000.

Ms. Crawford practices in the areas of environmental law and litigation, toxic torts, and product liability. In 1997, the Institute of Professional Environmental Practice recognized Ms. Crawford as a Qualified Environmental Professional, a distinction awarded after 15 years’ experience and examination on a specific technical environmental project.

Jessie King focuses her practice on environmental legal issues. A former chief attorney for the Environmental Quality Control Division of the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control (SCDHEC), she has substantial experience helping companies and individuals obtain environmental permits, respond to notices of violation and environmental lawsuits, understand regulatory requirements, perform due diligence and negotiate business transactions. Jessie’s experience spans regulatory, litigation and transactional matters. She has worked with clients – including manufacturers, landfill owners, miners, farmers, developers, landlords, tenants and banks – on matters such as permitting, enforcement, compliance, Brownfields redevelopment, lending, foreclosure and bankruptcy. Ms. Shahid served for a decade in the General Counsel’s Office of the South Carolina Department of Health and Environmental Control, as Chief Counsel of the coastal permitting office. Since leaving DHEC in 2002, she has represented land-owners, utilities, real estate developers, industry, and local governments in permitting and compliance issues arising from regulation by DHEC, the U. S. Army Corps of Engineers, and zoning and land use authorities.

Mr. Terreni has practiced law in Columbia, South Carolina, since 1990. He is a 1990 graduate of the University of South Carolina School Of Law. He earned his B.A. degree in International Studies with a minor in French from the University of South Carolina in 1985. Mr. Terreni practiced with Cooper, Beard & Dibble (1990-91) and with the Dibble Law Offices from 1991 to 1995. He served as executive assistant to the Lieutenant Governor from 1995 to 1996. In 1996, he returned to private practice, opening the Terreni Law Firm, LLC. In 2004, Mr. Terreni was hired by the S.C. Public Service Commission as the Chief Clerk and Administrator, and he held this position until February of 2010 when he returned to private practice.
