Each webinar session earns continuing education credit and can be registered for individually. All attendees must log-on through their own email – attendees may not watch together if they wish to earn continuing education credit. Certificates of completion can be downloaded in PDF form upon passing a short quiz. A link to the quiz will be sent to each qualifying attendee immediately after the webinar. The certificate can be downloaded from the Results page of the quiz upon scoring 80% or higher.

This webinar is open to the public and is designed to qualify for 6.0 PDHs for professional engineers and 6.0 HSW continuing education hours for licensed architects in all states.

Heather Holdridge
Heather Gayle Holdridge, leveraging her background in mechanical engineering, Heather directs all Lake|Flato teams in establishing sustainability goals. She devises strategies and systems to realize those goals under programs such as LEED, the 2030 Challenge, and the Living Building Challenge. Heather works closely with teams to evaluate passive systems and performs energy modeling throughout the design process. She received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin and a Master of Business Administration degree from The University of Texas at San Antonio.

Course Description: This 6-hour course examines the new developments of residential and small commercial solar photovoltaic (PV) energy systems, including solar PV calculations and economics, new materials and components, developments in solar energy storage, changes in codes and regulations, and the future of solar PV energy systems.
Learning Objectives:
Learning Objective 1:
Learners will be able to perform energy calculations, including PV potential, by utilizing calculation tools and resources to analyze the economics (cost, lifecycle, incentives, etc.) of solar PV.
Learning Objective 2:
Learners will be able to review new materials and components related to solar PV energy systems for residential and small commercial properties, including panels, films, inverters, optimizers, mounting systems, software, etc.
Learning Objective 3:
Learners will be able to discuss the new developments in solar energy storage, including battery technologies, potential, distribution, and scaling.
Learning Objective 4:
Learners will be able to review new developments in codes and regulation related to solar PV energy systems, including those of the International Building Code, International Residential Code, National Electrical Code, International Energy Conservation Codes and Stretch Codes.
