All attendees must log-on through their own email – attendees may not watch together if they wish to earn continuing education credit. HalfMoon Education Inc. must be able to prove attendance if either the attendee or HalfMoon Education Inc. is audited.

Jeffrey L. Snyder, PE
Senior Geotechnical Engineer at GHD Services, Inc.Mr. Snyder is a geotechnical professional for transportation, commercial, industrial and municipal projects throughout the upper Midwest including in Ohio, Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Pennsylvania, and Kentucky. He provides analyses and recommendations for shallow and deep foundation systems as well as landslide evaluation and remediation. He has co-authored several papers on lateral loading behavior of driven pile foundations. Mr. Snyder earned his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Civil Engineering from Brigham Young University.

Course Title: Soil, Slope and Foundation Stability

Course Description: The first half of this 6.5-hour course for design professionals is dedicated to soil investigation, classification, and mechanical and hydraulic properties. The course uses that knowledge as the foundation for the second half of the course which focuses on determining and increasing bearing capacity and slope stability.

Learners will be able to explain soil investigation on construction sites, including site reconnaissance, drilling and boring, and test pits.

Learners will be able to review physical properties of soils, including shear strength, friction, compressibility, and permeability.
