All attendees must log-on through their own email – attendees may not watch together if they wish to earn continuing education credit. HalfMoon Education Inc. must be able to prove attendance if either the attendee or HalfMoon Education Inc. is audited.

Certificates of completion can be downloaded in PDF form upon passing a short quiz. A link to the quiz will be sent to each qualifying attendee immediately after the webinar. The certificate can be downloaded from the Results page of the quiz upon scoring 80% or higher.

Webinars are presented via GoToWebinar, an easy-to-use application that can be run on most systems and tablets. Continuing Education Credit Information

This webinar is open to the public and is designed to qualify for 6.0 PDHs for professional engineers and 6.0 HSW continuing education hours for licensed architects in all states that allow this learning method. Please refer to specific state rules to determine eligibility.

Mr. Iliff has been a certified building official for 10+ years serving communities in Texas, Illinois, and Missouri. He has taught classes on the residential, building, and property maintenance codes with a focus on preparing students for certification exams and effective administration. He earned an undergraduate degree in Urban Planning and Development from Ball State University.

Course Title: Significant Changes to the 2024 International Building Code and
2024 International Residential Code

Course Description: This six-hour course explores the significant changes to the 2024 International Building Code (IBC) and the 2024 International Residential Code (IRC). The course focuses changes related to code administration, definitions, building planning, fire protection, means of egress, accessibility, and mechanical, electrical and plumbing (MEP) systems.

Learning Objectives:

Learning Objective 1:
Learners will be able to identify changes to code administration and definitions, including changes to permit exemptions, high-rise building classifications, and energy efficiency.

Learning Objective 2:
Learners will be able to analyze updates to building planning and fire protection requirements, including revisions for occupancy groups, fire-blocking materials, and structural fire protection.

Learning Objective 3:
Learners will be able to discuss changes to means of egress and accessibility requirements, including new provisions for egress from occupiable roofs, door hardware, and accessible parking and vehicle charging stations.

Learning Objective 4:
Learners will be able to assess revisions to MEP systems in the 2024 IRC, focusing on updated mechanical equipment standards, electrical definitions, and plumbing regulations.
