This two-hour course explains what upfront carbon emissions are, how they impact the climate, how they are calculated, and identifies the building materials that are the largest sources. Then, the course focuses on ways design professionals can reduce upfront carbon emissions in design, material selection, and specification. Lastly, the course will discuss how this reduction impacts building cost and energy efficiency.
