This webinar is open to the public and is designed to qualify for 6.0 PDHs for professional engineers and 6.0 HSW continuing education hours for licensed architects in all states that allow this learning method. Please refer to specific state rules to determine eligibility.

Course Title: Swimming Pool Design and Construction

Delivery Method: Live Online

Course Description: This six-hour course analyzes code-compliant design and construction of pools and spas. The course will focus on safe pool geometry, safety from suction entrapment, energy efficiency, child barriers, electrical bonding, equipment selection, structural issues, permitting and inspections. The course will also reference and explain relevant code provisions found in the ICC, ISPSC, and some state codes.

Learning Objectives:

Learning Objective 1:
Learners will be able to examine entry and egress designs for pools and spas, as well as child barriers, alarms, covers and fencing.

Learning Objective 2:
Learners will be able to maximize possible flow into suction outlets and keep users safe from suction entrapment.

Learning Objective 3:
Learners will be able to explore excavation practices for pools close to existing structures.

Learning Objective 4:
Learners will be able to maximize energy efficiency of pools and spas through considerate selection of pumps, filters and heaters.
