Areas of performance include: On-Site Waste-Water Treatment, Site & Soils Evaluation, Wetland Delineation & Mitigation, Drainage and a wide range of environmental consulting services. Mr. Sweeney is a board member of the National Onsite Wastewater Recycling Association (NOWRA) and the current Chair of the Technical Practices Committee. He is in the process of starting the Nevada Onsite Sustainable Technology for Recycling Association (NOSTRA). Mr. Sweeney is also a former Board Member of the Oregon Onsite Wastewater Association (O2WA), and Former President of the Washington On-Site Sewage Association (WOSSA).He earned his B.S. degree from Portland State University, Master of Science in Management from Marylhurst University, and his MBA from Veteran Entrepreneurial Training & Resource Network.

Course Title: Onsite Wastewater Treatment Systems: Conventional and Alternative Treatment Technologies

Course Description: This six-hour course provides an in-depth analysis of conventional and alternative onsite wastewater treatment systems. The course focuses on aerobic treatment systems, peat biofilter systems, drip dispersal systems, fixed-activated sludge treatment, recirculating sand filters and more. The course also explores the problems with conventional systems, recent technical advances, and the regulation, permitting and sustainability of the alternative systems and technology.

Learners will be able to examine the technology, operation and problems of conventional wastewater treatment systems and explore recent scientific and technical advances.
