All attendees must log-on through their own email – attendees may not watch together if they wish to earn continuing education credit. HalfMoon Education Inc. must be able to prove attendance if either the attendee or HalfMoon Education Inc. is audited.

Certificates of completion can be downloaded in PDF form upon passing a short quiz. A link to the quiz will be sent to each qualifying attendee immediately after the webinar. The certificate can be downloaded from the Results page of the quiz upon scoring 80% or higher.

Continuing Education Credit Information
This webinar is open to the public and offers 7.0 PDHs to professional engineers and 7.0 HSW continuing education hours to licensed architects in North Carolina. Engineers and architects seeking continuing education credit in other states will be able to claim the hours earned at this webinar, in most cases. Refer to specific state rules to determine eligibility.

Matt Love

Matt Love is the Chief Building Code Official for Cabarrus County Construction Standards in North Carolina. Mr. Love obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in Construction Technologies with a concentration in Community and Regional Planning from Appalachian State University. Mr. Love is also a Licensed General Contractor. Mr. Love currently holds a Level III Standard Certificate in Building, Plumbing, Mechanical and Electrical and Level I Standard Fire Certificate from the North Carolina Department of Insurance. Mr. Love teaches Building and Plumbing I, II and III Standard Courses to North Carolina Building Inspectors as well as Continuing Education Courses for the North Carolina Building Inspectors’ Association. Matt is currently on the Executive Board of the North Carolina Building Inspectors’ Association as the president-elect while also serves on the Education Committee as the co-chair and Site-Development Committee.

Course Title: North Carolina Best Practices in Plumbing Design and Construction

Delivery Method: Live Online

Course Description: This seven-hour course for design professionals identifies, explains and evaluates best practices in plumbing design and construction while utilizing the North Carolina Plumbing Code and North Carolina Residential Code as references and resources. The course will focus on fixture counts, best practices for pipes, fittings, and cast iron pipes, as well as common plumbing violations.

Learning Objectives:

Learning Objective 1:
Learners will be able to utilize the North Carolina Plumbing Code and the North Carolina Residential code as references and resources to guide them in the design and construction of plumbing systems.

Learning Objective 2:
Learners will be able to identify and adopt best practices for pipes and fittings, including the appropriate utilization of different materials such as ABS, PEX, PVS, and CPVC.

Learning Objective 3:
Learners will be able to identify and adopt best practices related to cast iron pipe, including appropriate use of fittings, supports, and cast iron versus plastic.

Learning Objective 4:
Learners will be able to interpret, calculate and satisfy the requirement for the number of fixtures.

Learning Objective 5:
Learners will be able to identify and resolve common plumbing violations, including problems related to water/sewer inspections and ground plumbing inspections.
