Erik White, PE

President, UEG Consulting, LLC

Mr. White has over 25 years of experience in engineering, ranging from compliance and industrial wastewater and air treatment system evaluations to remedial study/design projects. Mr. White works with clients across a variety of industries, including iron and steel, utilities, specialty chemicals, food and food additive processing, and petroleum refining. He has expertise in industrial wastewater and stormwater regulatory review and implementation support under the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Program. Mr. White earned a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst and an M.S. degree in Environmental Engineering from the University of Michigan.

Course Title: New Jersey Stormwater Management 2025

Course Description: This six-hour course examines stormwater permit requirements and procedures in New Jersey, explains stormwater science (hydrology, soils, drainage), provides a wide range of stormwater BMPs including green infrastructure and techniques, and demonstrates how to develop a stormwater pollution prevention plan (SWPPP) and plans for inspection, monitoring, maintenance and recordkeeping.

Learning Objectives:

Learning Objective 1:
Learners will be able to reference and comply with National Pollution Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) requirements and the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection rules regulating stormwater management.

Learning Objective 2:
Learners will be able to identify the consequences of storm events, use stormwater models to predict runoff and routing, and utilize methods of runoff reduction, storage and infiltration.

Learning Objective 3:
Learners will be able to adopt stormwater best management practices, including detention/retention ponds, riparian buffers, filter strips, vegetated swales, rain gardens, green roofs, pervious pavement, rain barrels, stormwater planters and more.

Learning Objective 4:
Learners will be able to describe the contents of stormwater pollution prevention plans, including best management practices and plans for required inspection, maintenance and record keeping.
