Shoots Veis P.E.

Mr. Shoots Veis is an experienced and engaging public speaker, having given hundreds of public presentations at professional conferences, college courses, public meetings, TEDx and service clubs.  He served a five-year term on the Billings, Montana city council, where he took an interest in getting presenters to engage with the audience.  Mr. Veis spent several years appearing as an actor in dozens of productions at Billings Studio Theatre and hosts the Your County, Your City and Your Schools programs on Community 7 Television.

Course Description: This course examines stormwater permit requirements and procedures, the science of stormwater, stormwater best management practices, stormwater pollution prevention plans, and plans for inspecting, monitoring, maintaining and record keeping of stormwater management efforts.

Learning Objectives:

Learning Objective 1:
Learners will be able to reference and comply with national and state stormwater regulations and permit requirements, and they will be able to determine which construction projects they apply to.

Learning Objective 2:
Learners will be able to apply the science of stormwater to identify the consequences of storm events and form strategies to reduce runoff, route and store stormwater and encourage infiltration and percolation.

Learning Objective 3:
Learners will be able to assist in stormwater management planning that includes green infrastructure practices and techniques.

Learning Objective 4:
Learners will be able to aid in the development of stormwater pollution management plans by assessing building sites, choosing best management practices, and planning for required inspection, maintenance and recordkeeping of stormwater management efforts.
