All attendees must log-on through their own email – attendees may not watch together if they wish to earn continuing education credit. HalfMoon Education Inc. must be able to prove attendance if either the attendee or HalfMoon Education Inc. is audited.

Certificates of completion can be downloaded in PDF form upon passing a short quiz. A link to the quiz will be sent to each qualifying attendee immediately after the webinar. The certificate can be downloaded from the Results page of the quiz upon scoring 80% or higher.

Continuing Education Credit Information

This webinar is open to the public and is designed to qualify for 2.0 PDHs for professional engineers and 2.0 HSW continuing education hours for licensed architects in all states that allow this learning method. Please refer to specific state rules to determine eligibility.

Mary Gotti

Independent Lighting Consultant

Ms. Gotti was the manager of the GE Lighting Institute in Cleveland, Ohio. She was responsible for the overall operation and curriculum development for this training and education center, which hosted over 4,000 visitors a year. She worked in the lighting business of GE for almost 40 years. She held a number of positions in lamp technology and marketing, including lamp development engineer for incandescent and metal halide lamps, research physicist, senior product and application specialist, and manager of lighting education. She has BS and MS degrees in Physics and an MBA degree from John Carroll University in Cleveland, Ohio. Ms. Gotti served on the Board of Directors of the IES for five years, and on the executive committee of the National Lighting Bureau. She is lighting certified (LC) by NCQLP (National Council on Qualifications for the Lighting Professions). Ms. Gotti is currently an independent lighting consultant.

Course Title: Lighting Retrofits for Residential and Small Commercial Applications

Delivery Method: Live Online

Course Description: This two-hour course explains the benefits of lighting retrofits and how to conduct a lighting audit, provides LED retrofit options for interior and exterior solutions, and demonstrates how to estimate the costs and financial benefits of lighting retrofits. The course concludes by reviewing best practices when participating in a lighting retrofit.

Learning Objectives:

Learning Objective 1:
Learners will be able to quantify the benefits of lighting retrofits in terms of energy, labor and product replacement and discuss how improving the quality of lighting can offer other potential benefits.

Learning Objective 2:
Learners will be able to conduct a lighting audit by assessing the lighting fixture types, loads, tasks, and hours of operation.

Learning Objective 3:
Learners will be able to utilize LED retrofit options for interior and exterior lighting solutions and reference and comply with applicable building codes.

Learning Objective 4:
Learners will be able to estimate retrofitting costs and financial benefits, as well as discuss and adopt tips and best practices regarding lighting retrofits.
