International Residential Codes in Kansas
This webinar is open to the public and offers 7.0 PDHs to professional engineers and
7.0 HSW continuing education hours to architects and landscape architects in Kansas.

Engineers, architects and landscape architects seeking continuing education credit in other states will be able to claim the hours earned at this webinar, in most cases. Refer to specific state rules to determine eligibility.

The American Institute of Architects Continuing Education System has approved this course for 7.0 LU|HSW (Sponsor No. J885). Only full participation is reportable to the AIA/CES.

The International Code Council has approved this event for .7 CEUs in the specialty area of Building (Preferred Provider No. 1232).

Completion certificates will be awarded to participants who complete this event, respond to prompts, and earn a passing score (80%) on the quiz that follows the presentation (multiple attempts allowed).

Greg Karow, C.B.O.

Certified Building Official CEO of Code Educational Opportunities

Mr. Karow is the CEO of Code Educational Opportunities providing education based on current building codes. He also provides service as a building code specialist for design professionals and stakeholders in the industry. Mr. Karow has an extensive background in developing and presenting various types of building code and related seminars. Previous career paths included staff instructor with the International Code Council and with the State of Minnesota Codes and Standards Division. He has instructed in a Building Inspection Technology program at a local community college. Mr. Karow is a certified building official in Minnesota and holds ICC certifications as a Certified Building Official, ICC Plans Examiner, ICC Building Inspector and ICC Building Code Specialist.

Course Description: This course examines the development and enforcement of the the International Residential Code (IRC) as adopted in Kansas and its jurisdictions. Topics include building planning and shell construction, fire-resistant construction, wall and roofing construction, and energy efficiency.
