Speakers
Jared Agee, MCP CBO
Division Director of Building and Code Enforcement for St. Charles County, MissouriMr. Agee is the director of Building and Code Enforcement for St. Charles County, Missouri. Previously, he worked in urban and suburban municipal governments managing building code enforcement, facilities, and information technology. Prior to his public sector positions, Mr. Agee worked in the construction industry in design and project management.
He has an undergraduate degree in Architectural and Mechanical Design and a graduate degree in Public Administration and Policy Analysis. As a Master Code Professional, Mr. Agee is one of approximately 800 people to obtain the highest level of certification from the International Code Council. He currently holds a total of 28 certifications in building, energy, plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and accessibility areas.
Mr. Agee is a former president of the Missouri Association of Building Officials and Inspectors (MABOI). In addition, he founded Regimen Consulting LLC, which provides code training and technology consultation to various organizations across the country.

Course Description: This course examines the development and enforcement of the International Residential Code (IRC) and major changes for IRC 2021, provisions for building planning, fire resistance requirements, shell construction, and energy efficiency and building systems.

Learners will be able to identify and describe significant changes in this latest version of the International Residential Code.
Learning Objective 2:
Learners will be able to create a sample building for which they will be able to demonstrate code compliance competence, starting with building planning and shell construction.
Learning Objective 3:
Learners will be able to demonstrate their compliance competence in accordance with IRC 2021 provisions for fire resistance, including light, ventilation, minimum room sizes and ceiling heights, egress, windows, smoke and carbon monoxide alarms, and residential accessibility.
Learning Objective 4:
Learners will be able to demonstrate their compliance competence in accordance with IRC 2021 provisions for energy efficiency and building systems, including insulation, fenestration, weather resistive and air barriers, vapor retarders, exhaust and ventilation, venting and ducting, mechanical systems, water heater, and electrical systems.
