All attendees must log-on through their own email – attendees may not watch together if they wish to earn continuing education credit. HalfMoon Education Inc. must be able to prove attendance if either the attendee or HalfMoon Education Inc. is audited.

Certificates of completion can be downloaded in PDF form upon passing a short quiz. A link to the quiz will be sent to each qualifying attendee immediately after the webinar. The certificate can be downloaded from the Results page of the quiz upon scoring 80% or higher.

This webinar offers 7.0 PDHs to professional engineers and 7.0 HSW continuing education hours to architects licensed in all states.

Speakers

Christopher McWhite, CBO, HCO

Mr. McWhite is a graduate of Vincennes University. He has served as an inspector and plans examiner in Massachusetts, Georgia, Virginia, and Indiana. He has served on the Massachusetts Construction Supervisor Licensing exam rewriting committee to help transition the exam from the 2009 to the 2015 International Codes, as a member of the International Code Council’s IPMC / IZC Code Development Committee, and as member of the ICC Building Membership Council. Mr. McWhite has earned a combined 21 Certifications from SBCCI (Legacy Code) and ICC including Housing Code Official, Building Code Specialist, Plumbing Code Specialist, Certified Building Official, and is currently two certifications away from Master Code Professional.

Course Title: International Existing Building Code 2021

Course Description: This course examines provisions and compliance standards in Chapters 1-16 of the 2021 version of the International Existing Building Code (IEBC).

Learning Objectives:

Learning Objective 1:
Learners will be able to to explain which buildings/projects to which the IEBC applies, and they will be able to identify and discuss the changes in the 2021 Code.

Learning Objective 2:
Learners will be able to reference and comply with IEBC provisions for storm shelters, accessibility, and CO protections for existing buildings, and they will be able to determine prescriptive compliance methods for additions, alterations, fire escapes, windows and emergency escape openings, and historic buildings.

Learning Objective 3:
Learners will be able to describe the three levels of alterations for existing buildings, and they will be able to reference structural and plumbing requirements in instances of change of occupancy.

Learning Objective 4:
Learners will be able to reference and comply with IEBC provisions for additions to existing buildings, including heights, areas, and structural requirements.
