All attendees must log-on through their own email – attendees may not watch together if they wish to earn continuing education credit. HalfMoon Education Inc. must be able to prove attendance if either the attendee or HalfMoon Education Inc. is audited. 

Certificates of completion can be downloaded in PDF form upon passing a short quiz. A link to the quiz will be sent to each qualifying attendee immediately after the webinar. The certificate can be downloaded from the Results page of the quiz upon scoring 80% or higher.

Dr. Stevens has extensive experience in both numerical and analytical heat transfer analysis covering both steady-state and transient situations with applications to thermal history, thermal response, electronic cooling, temperature profiles, thermal design, heat flow rate determination and more. He has extensive experience in applied thermodynamics with applications for renewable energy, HVAC, air engines, novel heat engines, and more. He has over 30 years experience in higher education teaching undergraduate and graduate classes, doing course and curriculum development, and advising students.

Course Title: HVAC Fundamentals: Psychrometrics and Processes

Course Description: This three-hour course explores the fundamentals of HVAC psychrometrics and processes, focusing on air-water vapor mixtures and their impact on heating, cooling, and air conditioning design. The course will demonstrate how to calculate key properties such as humidity ratio, relative humidity, dew point, and enthalpy, as well as the utilization of psychrometric charts. The course also covers HVAC processes and considers the effects sensible and latent heat loads have on HVAC design.

Learning Objectives: 

Learning Objective 1: Learners will be able to calculate key psychrometric properties of air-water vapor mixtures, including humidity ratio, relative humidity, dew point, and enthalpy.

Learning Objective 2: Learners will be able to utilize psychrometric charts to analyze air-water vapor mixtures and HVAC system performance.

Learning Objective 3: Learners will be able to analyze and describe HVAC processes such as heating, cooling, humidification, dehumidification, and air mixing.

Learning Objective 4: Learners will be able to assess sensible and latent heat loads and their role in HVAC system design.
