All attendees must log-on through their own email – attendees may not watch together if they wish to earn continuing education credit. HalfMoon Education Inc. must be able to prove attendance if either the attendee or HalfMoon Education Inc. is audited.

Certificates of completion can be downloaded in PDF form upon passing a short quiz. A link to the quiz will be sent to each qualifying attendee immediately after the webinar. The certificate can be downloaded from the Results page of the quiz upon scoring 80% or higher.

Webinars are presented via GoToWebinar, an easy-to-use application that can be run on most systems and tablets. Instructions and login information will be provided in an email sent close to the date of the webinar. It is highly recommended that you download, install and test the application before the webinar begins by clicking on the link in the email.

The Gateway Engineers INC

Mr. Messmer has over 30 years of engineering experience in analysis, design, plan/specification development, and project management/personnel supervision for geotechnical, foundation and structural engineering projects in the transportation, industrial, municipal and commercial fields of civil engineering. Throughout his career he has placed an emphasis on quality control and staff training. Mr. Messmer is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, the American Concrete Institute, the American Society of Highway Engineers and the Society of American Military Engineers. He earned his B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Pittsburgh. Mr. Messmer was accepted into the Academy of Geo-Professionals in 2013.

Course Title: How to Design Foundations for Expansive Soils

Course Description: This three-hour live course explores the science, consequences and solutions regarding expansive soils and their effect on foundations. The course defines expansive soils, identifies foundation problems caused by these soils, and discusses 3D printed solutions and technology for design professionals.

Learners will be able to define expansive soils and determine their presence at a site.

Learners will be able to identify foundation problems that are caused by expansive soils.

Learning Objective 3:
Learners will be able to apply 3D printing technology and solutions to the design and construction of a structure.

Learners will be able to discuss the 3D printing of buildings, how to construct a 3D printed building, and anticipated developments in construction 3D printing.
