This webinar is open to the public and is designed to qualify for 2.0 PDHs for professional engineers and land surveyors, 2.0 continuing education hours for licensed architects, and 2.0 HSW continuing education hours for landscape architects in all states that allow this learning method. Course Title:  Launching a Drone Program: Equipment, Compliance, Safety, and Operations

Delivery Method: Live Online 

Course Description: This two-hour course explores the process of developing a safe, compliant, and operationally effective drone program, including use case development, insurance, selection of equipment and software, as well as crew and risk management. The course also examines FAA Part 107 compliance, organizational oversight, and how drone applications, primarily building inspections, can improve public safety by reducing worker exposure to hazardous conditions and enabling more frequent and detailed assessments of building systems and code compliance.

Learning Objectives: 

Learning Objective 1: Learners will be able to identify drone use cases in the built environment, particularly inspections of roofs, facades, and structural systems, and evaluate how drones enable more frequent and detailed assessments that identify defects, potential failures, and code compliance issues before they endanger building occupants.

Learning Objective 2: Learners will be able to assess insurance requirements and implement risk management strategies that protect the public and ensure accountability in the event of drone-related incidents during construction or inspection operations.

Learning Objective 3: Learners will be able to implement crew management practices and a safety-first operational mindset that align with FAA requirements and organizational oversight structures.

Learning Objective 4: Learners will be able to outline the steps for developing a Part 107 training pipeline and establishing the compliance and oversight framework needed for consistent, safe drone operations that protect workers, bystanders, and surrounding communities.
