This webinar is open to the public and is designed to qualify for 6.5 PDHs for professional engineers and 6.5 HSW continuing education hours for licensed architects in all states that allow this learning method. Please refer to specific state rules to determine eligibility.

Course Title: High-Performance Commercial Building Envelope Design and Construction

Course Description: This 6.5-hour course focuses on the purpose, design and requirements of high-performing commercial building envelopes. The course will explain the importance, functions and code requirements of a high-performing envelopes before analyzing the specific materials and design parameters of foundations, floors, walls, roofs, doors and windows. The course concludes with a review on building commissioning and relevant case studies.

Learners will be able to define the building envelope, identify functions of high-performing envelopes, set performance goals and utilize metrics for measuring performance.

Learning Objective 2:
Learners will be able to analyze proper foundation design, including below-grade habitable space, and adopt methods of waterproofing and water management.

Learners will be able to discuss best practices and materials for framing, insulation, exterior cladding and vapor and moisture control.
