Continuing Education Information

This webinar is open to the public and is designed to qualify for 3.0 PDHs for professional engineers, 3.0 HSW continuing education hours for licensed architects, and 3.0 HSW continuing education hours for landscape architects in all states that allow this learning method. Please refer to specific state rules to determine eligibility.

HalfMoon Education is an approved continuing education sponsor for engineers in Florida (Provider License No: CEA362), Indiana (License No. CE21700059), Maryland, and New Jersey (Approval No. 24GP00049300). HalfMoon Education is deemed an approved continuing education sponsor for New York engineers, architects and landscape architects via its registration with the American Institute of Architects Continuing Education System (AIA/CES) and the Landscape Architecture Continuing Education System (LA/CES). Other states do not preapprove continuing education providers or courses.

The American Institute of Architects Continuing Education System has approved HalfMoon Education as a sponsor of continuing education (Sponsor No. J885). This course has been submitted for AIA CES approval and is currently pending. Only full participation is reportable to the AIA CES.

The Landscape Architecture Continuing Education System has approved HalfMoon Education as a provider of continuing education. This course has been submitted for LA CES approval and is currently pending. Only full participation is reportable to the LA CES.

The International Code Council has approved this event for .3 CEUs in the specialty area of Building (Preferred Provider No. 1232).

Attendance will be monitored, and attendance certificates will be available after the webinar for those who attend the entire course and score a minimum 80% on the quiz that follows the course (multiple attempts allowed).

Speakers

Michael E. Furlong

Managing Principal of Integrated Project Solutions, LLC (IPS), Ohio

PS is a consulting company that specializes in many aspects of design, building and construction. Much of that specialization pertains to Building Information Modeling (BIM) and Virtual Design and Construction (VDC). BIM and VDC are both up and coming fields in the building and construction industry and IPS is regarded as a leader in that field. Mr. Furlong’s introduction into the world of BIM came rather easy and stems from the fact that he has been designing in 3D for more than two decades using various programs. He has been responsible for coordinating more than $650M in construction dollars across the nation. The projects he has been involved with have been of varied type and use. From health care facilities to higher education to mixed use buildings, as well as museums, Mr. Furlong has experience in all areas and building types. He carries the CM-BIM (Certificate of Management – Building Information Modeling) designation, an accreditation awarded by the AGC after completion of the required coursework and passing a national exam. Mr. Furlong is also involved in the instructional training of the CM-BIM courses as an approved instructor. He has previously been an Applications Engineer with Autodesk and is certified to train and support various Autodesk products. Mr. Furlong is a BIM advocate and actively participates on the AGC Committee to revise the ConsensusDocs BIM documents. He has taken his knowledge and experience of construction and coupled that with his ability to use 3D software. As a byproduct of that, he has the ability to create a virtual environment from which to study building design and the interaction between the various system components that will be installed within that building.
