Before undertaking any self-study effort, you should review the rules of your licensing/certifying entity.
You must take and pass a quiz in order to receive credit. You can take the quiz as many times as needed and there is no time limit on the quiz. Once the quiz is completed, you will be asked to download your certificate.
Videos that qualify for AIA, LACES, ASLA, or CLARB credit will require an extra week for processing.

The video will have occasional question prompts that will not allow the video to progress unless they are answered. You will not be able to skip forward while watching the video.

Each webinar session earns continuing education credit and can be registered for individually. All attendees must log-on through their own email – attendees may not watch together if they wish to earn continuing education credit. HalfMoon Education Inc. must be able to prove attendance if either the attendee or HalfMoon Education Inc. is audited.
Certificates of completion can be downloaded in PDF form upon passing a short quiz. A link to the quiz will be sent to each qualifying attendee immediately after the webinar. The certificate can be downloaded from the Results page of the quiz upon scoring 80% or higher.

Owner, President of Azimuth Solar LLC
Mr. Gilbert brings over 26 years of experience in the renewable energy industry and holds a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering. He provides solar energy consulting, training and inspection services within the solar energy and real estate industries. Under Azimuth Solar, in 2018 Mr. Gilbert was contracted by the Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) to write a report entitled Solar Photovoltaic (PV) Plant Commissioning Best Practices. From 2013 to 2016 he served as director of operations and maintenance (O&M) for Vigilant Energy Management, overseeing a portfolio of over 100 commercial PV systems. In 2000 Mr. Gilbert co-founded Chesapeake Solar, a leading mid-Atlantic solar energy company. In 2008 his company was listed on Inc. Magazine’s 500 fastest-growing small companies, and later that same year the company was acquired by groSolar, one of the nation’s leading solar energy companies at the time. He served on the board of directors for the local chapter of the Solar Energy Industries Association (MDV-SEIA) and was chair of the Potomac Region Solar Energy Association (PRSEA) for four years starting in 1998. Mr. Gilbert has been certified by the North American Board of Certified Energy Practitioners (NABCEP) for both thermal and photovoltaic systems.

Course Description: This course will examine the latest developments in solar PV panels, mounting methods, inverter capabilities, energy storage, and monitoring and diagnostics.
Learning Objective 1:
Learners will be able to discuss and reference the latest improvement in solar panel technology, and examine the long-term environmental and economic of solar PV adoption.
Learning Objective 2:
Learners will be able to evaluate the latest innovations in panel mounting methods, and examine the impact these methods have on the life of the system and energy production for system owners and building occupants.
Learning Objective 3:
Learners will be able to explain the function of the inverter in the PV system, and discuss and reference how recent innovations can produce greater energy yields and increased integration with other “smart” mechanical systems.
Learning Objective 4:
Learners will be able to discuss and reference improvements to energy storage technology, monitoring methods, and diagnostic tools, and explain how this can lead to greater energy production, less waste, and less reliance on fossil fuels.
