Certificates of completion can be downloaded in PDF form upon passing a short quiz. A link to the quiz will be sent to each qualifying attendee immediately after the webinar. The certificate can be downloaded from the Results page of the quiz upon scoring 80% or higher.

Continuing Education Credit Information

This webinar is open to the public and is designed to qualify for 6.0 CLE hours, including 1.5 ethics hour, for paralegals. Paralegal certification is not required to participate in this course.

Courses approved for credit by the National Federation of Paralegal Associations (NFPA) are deemed acceptable for Florida Registered Paralegals (Rule 20-6.1).

This course has been approved by the National Federation of Paralegal Associations (NFPA) for 6.0 total CLE credits, which includes 4.5 general credits and 1.5 ethics credit.

Attendance will be monitored, and attendance certificates will be available after the webinar for those who attend the entire course and score a minimum 80% on the quiz that follows the course (multiple attempts allowed).

Julio Cesar Torrente

Criminal Defense Attorney, Alex Hanna Law, P.A.

Mr. Torrente is a graduate of St. Thomas University College of Law. During his time at STU Law, he served as a volunteer Intern to Circuit Judge N. Hunter Davis of the Seventeenth Judicial Circuit of Florida and as an Intern to General Magistrate Judge Steven Lieberman of the Eleventh Judicial Circuit of Florida. Mr. Torrente was ranked #1 in his class for Florida Civil Practice and Legal Methods and Essay Writing. Before entering Law School, He attended St. Thomas University, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude and obtained a B.A. in Criminal Justice. In addition, he was inducted into the National Criminal Justice Honor Society, Alpha Phi Sigma, and a member of the Criminal Justice Club. He is also a proud graduate of Belen Jesuit Preparatory School, Class of ’16, and St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic School in Miami, Florida. Mr. Torrente has great passion for justice and respect for human dignity and provides his clients with the utmost representation of their legal rights.

J. Samantha Vacciana

Managing Partner and Attorney with Trial Lawyers of Florida

Ms. Vacciana is a fierce advocate for her clients in the courtroom and within the community. As an immigrant from the UK, with Jamaican roots, her background fuels the dedication she has to her diverse community. This passion has lead her to serving in several leadership positions and nonprofits such as the Florida Bar Foundation, Florida Legal Services, Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, Caribbean Americas Soccer Association Inc., and Gang Alternatives: Project Renew. She is a proud Floridian and attended Florida Atlantic University where she earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees and graduated Cum Laude from the University of Florida for her J.D. From there, she was awarded the prestigious Equal Justice Works Fellowship. In conjunction with the Legal Aid Society of Palm Beach County, she developed a program that assisted immigrant victims of domestic violence to gain restraining orders, legal status in the U.S., and a myriad of other legal issues. Additionally, she is also currently a law professor at Florida Atlantic University. In 2012, Ms. Vacciana proudly opened the doors to her own law firm, Trial Lawyers of Florida. The firm brilliantly advocates cases in criminal defense, personal injury, probate, and family law practice areas.
