All attendees must log-on through their own email – attendees may not watch together if they wish to earn continuing education credit. HalfMoon Education Inc. must be able to prove attendance if either the attendee or HalfMoon Education Inc. is audited.

Certificates of completion can be downloaded in PDF form upon passing a short quiz. A link to the quiz will be sent to each qualifying attendee immediately after the webinar. The certificate can be downloaded from the Results page of the quiz upon scoring 80% or higher.

Continuing Education Credit Information

This webinar is open to the public and is designed to qualify for 1.0 PDHs for professional engineers and 1.0 HSW continuing education hours for licensed architects in most states that allow this learning method. Please refer to specific state rules to determine eligibility.

Brian Craig Johnson

Independent Consulting Civil/Structural Engineer in Minnesota

Mr. Johnson provides structural engineering and forensic inspections in multiple states. His work focuses on staff development, mentoring, proper structural design practices, peer reviews and the investigation of building damage, construction or structural defects and their proper repair, legal support, report writing, expert witness services and expert reports. Mr. Johnson also consults as designer of record or peer reviewer for a variety of building types, primarily wood-framed single-family townhomes, and two to four-story assisted living, office, hotel, apartment, and condo complexes. He has design experience in big box retail in Florida’s Hurricane prone regions and experience with historic buildings codes (UBC, BOCA, SBC). A licensed professional engineer in Minnesota since 2004, Mr. Johnson earned his B.C.E. and M.S.C.E. degrees from the University of Minnesota – Twin Cities. He is also a professional structural engineer in Nebraska.

Learning Objective 3:
Learners will be able to analyze a case study that focuses on a masonry building that collapsed twice during construction and the irregularities and missing elements from structural calculations.

Learning Objective 4:
Learners will be able to analyze a case study that focuses on the dangers and problems arising from incomplete load paths in wood framed buildings.
