All attendees must log-on through their own email – attendees may not watch together if they wish to earn continuing education credit. HalfMoon Education Inc. must be able to prove attendance if either the attendee or HalfMoon Education Inc. is audited.

Certificates of completion can be downloaded in PDF form upon passing a short quiz. A link to the quiz will be sent to each qualifying attendee immediately after the webinar. The certificate can be downloaded from the Results page of the quiz upon scoring 80% or higher.

This webinar is open to the public and is designed to qualify for 7.0 PDHs for professional engineers and 7.0 HSW continuing education hours for licensed architects in all states.

Speakers

Vincent F. Fratinardo, P.E. S.E. RRC

Civil/Structural Engineer and Roof Consultant

Mr. Fratinardo is a civil/structural engineer and roof consultant. His over 20 years of experience includes civil and structural engineering analysis, design, construction administration, field investigation, and project management, and 13 years of experience specific to forensic engineering and the investigation and analysis of building damage and failures. Mr. Fratinardo has designed numerous new buildings, building additions, building renovations, and mechanical platforms and supports. He has designed and analyzed roof, wall and floor framing systems utilizing steel, concrete, masonry, and wood construction. Mr. Fratinardo has vast expertise in commercial, industrial, agricultural, municipal, educational and residential building damage investigations, including on-site investigations after 25 different tornado events, and Hurricanes Irene, Sandy, Matthew, Harvey, Irma, Maria and Florence. He has legal experience in depositions, arbitration hearings and trials. He has prepared and performed numerous continuing education presentations, including on an array of topics in forensic engineering, structural engineering and building codes for HalfMoon Education Inc., in multiple states since 2014. Mr. Fratinardo graduated from Michigan State University with a bachelor of science degree in Civil Engineering, and he also holds a master of engineering degree in Civil Engineering from Texas A&M University. He is a registered professional engineer in multiple states and a licensed structural engineer in Illinois.

Course Description: This 7.0 hour live presentation examines engineered lumber products and design guidance, design values for structural engineered lumber, structural glued laminated timber, timber poles and piles, prefabricated wood I-joists, structural composite lumber and wood structural panels, and connectors and fasteners.

Learning Objectives:

Learning Objective 1:
Learners will be able to reference structural engineered lumber design values and adjustments for bending members, compressional members, columns, tension members, combined loads, bearing capacity, and flitch beams.

Learning Objective 2:
Learners will be able to select the appropriate connects and fasteners for the engineered lumber products covered in this programs, including mechanical connections, dowel fasteners, split ring and shear plate connectors, and timber rivets.

Learning Objective 3:
Learners will be able to identify various types of engineered lumber products, determine their structural and non-structural properties, and be able to reference applicable national design specifications and building codes.

Learning Objective 4:
Learners will be able to determine the applications and design values for structural glued-laminated timber, prefabricated wood I-joists, and structural composite lumber and wood structural panels.
