Before undertaking any self-study effort, you should review the rules of your licensing/certifying entity.
You must take and pass a quiz in order to receive credit. You can take the quiz as many times as needed and there is no time limit on the quiz. Once the quiz is completed, you will be asked to download your certificate.
Videos that qualify for AIA, LACES, ASLA, or CLARB credit will require an extra week for processing.

Each webinar session earns continuing education credit and can be registered for individually. Mr. Lyons has 15 years’ experience in the building materials industry, including roofing, insulation, granite, dimensional lumber and engineered wood products. He is currently the multi-family/light commercial manager responsible for educating and driving specification for Boise Cascade engineered wood products within that segment.

Course Title: Engineered Lumber Design and Construction

Course Description: This seven-hour course examines the importance of following manufacturer specifications when assembling and constructing using engineered wood products, including those for flooring systems, roof systems, fire protection, framing, and multi-family construction. The course will also look at code compliance provisions found in the International Residential Code and the International Building Code.
Learning Objective 1:
Learners will be able to comply with engineered wood product manufacturer specifications and building codes for the proper material selection and assembly of engineered wood flooring systems.
Learning Objective 2:
Learners will be able to comply with engineered wood product manufacturer specifications and building codes for the proper sizing and selection of engineered I-Joists, beams and columns.
Learning Objective 3:
Learners will be able to differentiate fire-resistive and fire-resistance-rated assemblies as it relates to the use of engineered wood products in building systems.
Learning Objective 4:
Learners will be able to identify the types of construction classifications under the building code and comply with manufacturer specifications and code requirements when designing and constructing with engineered wood products.
