All attendees must log-on through their own email – attendees may not watch together if they wish to earn continuing education credit. HalfMoon Education Inc. must be able to prove attendance if either the attendee or HalfMoon Education Inc. is audited.

Certificates of completion can be downloaded in PDF form upon passing a short quiz. A link to the quiz will be sent to each qualifying attendee immediately after the webinar. The certificate can be downloaded from the Results page of the quiz upon scoring 80% or higher.

Principal at Hartech Engineering & Consulting, LLC

Mr. Jones, P.E. is president of Hartech Engineering which was founded in 2007 as a multi-discipline civil engineering consulting firm providing infrastructure, development and municipal design services for the public and private sectors. Bringing over 30 years of engineering expertise along with specific state-of-the-art, computer-aided technology to achieve efficient, cost saving design solutions, he also provides hydrology and hydraulic studies and reports along with general civil engineering support for prime consultants to PennDOT or local municipality projects. Mr. Jones is a licensed pilot and studied Military Civil Engineering while serving in the USAF and continues his Masters education locally through Penn State. Additionally, he is also a registered professional engineer in the states of Pennsylvania, Maryland, Arizona and Georgia.

Course Description: This courses examines unmanned aircraft system (UAS) usage in construction, applicable federal and state regulations, potential liability risks, construction site mapping, monitoring construction progress, safety and quality, and post-construction structural inspections.

Learning Objectives:

Learning Objective 1:
Learners will be able to describe the applications of unmanned aircraft Systems (UAS) or drones in construction, including site mapping, site reconnaissance, monitoring progress, and improve worker safety.

Learning Objective 2:
Learners will be able to reference federal and state regulation of drones, discuss FAA remote pilot certification procedures, potential risks associated with drone usage, and available commercial drone insurance.

Learning Objective 3:
Learners will be able to explain the benefits of using UAS technology to monitor the construction progress, maintain safe site conditions, and to ensure project quality standards.

Learning Objective 4:
Learners will be able to explain how drones can be used to conduct post-construction inspections in cases that present high-risks to inspection officials or design/construction personnel.
