All attendees must log-on through their own email – attendees may not watch together if they wish to earn continuing education credit. HalfMoon Education Inc. must be able to prove attendance if either the attendee or HalfMoon Education Inc. is audited.

Certificates of completion can be downloaded in PDF form upon passing a short quiz. A link to the quiz will be sent to each qualifying attendee immediately after the webinar. The certificate can be downloaded from the Results page of the quiz upon scoring 80% or higher.

Webinars are presented via GoToWebinar, an easy-to-use application that can be run on most systems and tablets. This webinar is open to the public and is designed to qualify for 2.0 PDHs for professional engineers and 2.0 HSW continuing education hours for licensed architects in all states.

Heather Holdridge, EIT

Associate AIA LEED Fellow, Associate Partner, Sustainability Director

Ms. Holdridge, LEED Fellow, EIT, Associate AIA is the Sustainability Director at Lake|Flato Architects. Leveraging her background in mechanical engineering, she directs all Lake|Flato teams in establishing sustainability goals. Ms. Holdridge devises strategies and systems to realize those goals under programs such as LEED, the 2030 Challenge, and the Living Building Challenge. She works closely with teams to evaluate passive systems and performs energy modeling throughout the design process. Ms. Holdridge received a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin and a Master of Business Administration degree from The University of Texas at San Antonio.

Course Title: Designing Tiny House Building Envelopes and Mechanical Systems

Course Description: This 2-hour course focuses on designing tiny homes to create a high-performance building envelope and incorporate efficient mechanical systems. Energy efficiency is one of the most important characteristics of tiny homes and this course seeks to assist design professionals with maximizing the efficiency of tiny homes.

Learning Objectives:

Learning Objective 1:
Learners will be able to examine floor, exterior wall and roof system materials and designs that contribute to creating a high-performance building envelope.

Learning Objective 2:
Learners will be able to examine insulation, doors, windows and exterior cladding materials and designs that contribute to creating a high-performance building envelope.

Learning Objective 3:
Learners will be able to discuss electrical systems for tiny homes, including grid-tied systems and stand-alone systems.

Learning Objective 4:
Learners will be able to analyze HVAC, plumbing and wastewater systems for tiny homes.
