This webinar is open to the public and offers 6.0 HSW continuing education hours/PDHs
to registered interior designers in most states. It is approved for 6.0 hours for Louisiana
interior designers. Due to time constraints, HalfMoon Education will not be seeking
course approval in Florida, Maryland, New Jersey, New Mexico or other states that
preapprove continuing education course for interior designers.
This webinar offers 6.0 PDHs to professional engineers and 6.0 HSW continuing
education hours to architects licensed in all states.

Her interior design portfolio includes award-winning educational, community, international, cultural, residential and corporate spaces. Her designs and workshops integrate leading edge principles of biophilia (passion for life), mindfulness, evidence based design, storytelling and sustainability to create holistic places of wellness, inspiration and transformation

Course Title: Designing Interiors for Human Wellness

Course Description: This course examines the principles and standards of human wellness in the arena of the built environment. It defines and explains the idea of biophilic design, and it explores the potential of lighting design, ergonomic design, and the psychology of colors, textures and materials in the context of wellness.
Learning Objectives:
Learning Objective 1:
Learners will be able to explain the concept of human wellness and how it relates to the built environment, particularly in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Learning Objective 2:
Learners will be able to describe the benefits of biophilic design, wherein building occupants feel a sense of connectivity to nature.
Learning Objective 3:
Learners will be able to describe how lighting can affect human circadian rhythms, and they will be able to identify new lighting technologies and daylighting contributes to human wellness.
Learning Objective 4:
Learners will be able to identify ergonomic design strategies that improve workplaces, which can be beneficial in nontraditional office environments.
Learning Objective 5:
Learners will be able to discuss how color, texture and material choices can contribute to the goals of human wellness in interior environments.
