Continuing Education Information

This webinar is open to the public and is designed to qualify for 3.0 PDHs for professional engineers, 3.0 HSW continuing education hours for licensed architects, and 3.0 HSW continuing education hours for landscape architects in all states that allow this learning method. Please refer to specific state rules to determine eligibility.

Erik White, PE

President, UEG Consulting, LLC

Mr. White has over 25 years of experience in engineering, ranging from compliance and industrial wastewater and air treatment system evaluations to remedial study/design projects. Mr. White works with clients across a variety of industries, including iron and steel, utilities, specialty chemicals, food and food additive processing, and petroleum refining. He has expertise in industrial wastewater and stormwater regulatory review and implementation support under the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Program. Mr. White earned a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst and an M.S. degree in Environmental Engineering from the University of Michigan.

Course Title:  Deep Dive into PFAS in Our Water

Delivery Method: Live Online 

Course Description: This three-hour course explains what PFAS are, analyzes applicable regulations and requirements, explores the extent of PFAS contamination, identifies treatment options and technologies, and discusses the future of PFAS work and regulation.

Learning Objectives: 

Learning Objective 1: Learners will be able to explain what PFAS are, how they impact human health and why it is important to mitigate the contamination.

Learning Objective 2: Learners will be able to review PFAS regulations and requirements found in the Safe Drinking Water Act, the Clean Water Act and the Toxic Substances Control Act.

Learning Objective 3: Learners will be able to explain how building occupants and the public have a legal right to know what chemicals they may be ingesting under the Right-to-Know Act.

Learning Objective 4: Learners will be able to analyze the extent of PFAS contamination, identify treatment technologies and options, and discuss future developments of PFAS technology and regulation.
