All attendees must log-on through their own email – attendees may not watch together if they wish to earn continuing education credit. HalfMoon Education Inc. must be able to prove attendance if either the attendee or HalfMoon Education Inc. is audited.

Certificates of completion can be downloaded in PDF form upon passing a short quiz. A link to the quiz will be sent to each qualifying attendee immediately after the webinar. The certificate can be downloaded from the Results page of the quiz upon scoring 80% or higher.

Owner of Lile Engineering in Ashland, MO
Mr. Lile is the owner of Lile Engineering, which specializes in commercial energy solutions and LEED certification consulting. Mr. Lile has worked in the design industry for over 30 years, on healthcare, industrial, commercial and educational construction projects. He has been involved in electrical and mechanical design, as well as construction management and commissioning. He has volunteered for local city boards and commissions, including the City of Columbia Energy and Environment Commission, which he chaired from 2009 – 2015, helping the City review and adopt new building codes. Mr. Lile is a licensed Professional Engineer in Missouri.

Course Description: This course examines energy code changes in the 2021 code cycle and commercial provisions covering compliance options, general requirements and existing buildings. Building envelope provisions are also explored.

Learning Objectives:

Learning Objective 1:
Learners will be able to identify and explain the importance of Energy Code changes in the 2021 cycle, including improved thermal and envelope air leakage requirements, additional energy efficiency packages for a new “Points” system, and a Zero Code appendix.

Learning Objective 2:
Learners will be able to discuss select commercial provisions in the Energy Code for scope and administration, compliance options, general requirements, and existing buildings.

Learning Objective 3:
Learners will be able to comply with 2021 Energy Code requirements for weather-resistive barriers, vapor barriers, air barriers and testing requirements, thermal boundaries, and fenestration.

Learning Objective 4:
Learners will be able to comply with 2021 Energy Code requirements for insulation thickness/U factors, basement insulation, slab insulation, and requirements for skylights and daylighting, and vestibules.
