All attendees must log-on through their own email – attendees may not watch together if they wish to earn continuing education credit. HalfMoon Education Inc. must be able to prove attendance if either the attendee or HalfMoon Education Inc. is audited.

Certificates of completion can be downloaded in PDF form upon passing a short quiz. A link to the quiz will be sent to each qualifying attendee immediately after the webinar. The certificate can be downloaded from the Results page of the quiz upon scoring 80% or higher.

Continuing Education Credit Information

These webinars are open to the public and are designed to qualify for 3.0 PDHs for professional engineers and 3.0 HSW continuing education hours for licensed architects in all states that allow this learning method. Please refer to specific state rules to determine eligibility.

Mr. Huard received a mechanical engineering degree from Niagara College and bachelor and master of architecture and master of Urban Planning degrees from SUNY at Buffalo. He holds multiple professional accreditations including LEED AP O+M as well as LEED AP BD+C from Green Business Certification Inc. He was elevated to LEED Fellow in 2017 and additionally is a WELL Faculty member. Mr. Huard’s professional expertise has contributed to numerous domestic and international high-performance building, sustainable and restorative development projects as well as international events including Greenbuild, WaterBuild, Global Health & Wellness Summit, Living Future unConference, WaterSmart Innovations, Advanced Energy Conference, Energy Management Congress, CAPAC and G2E to name a few. Course Title: Cool Roofs

Delivery Method: Live Online

Course Description: This three-hour course provides an analysis of cool roofs and their design, benefits and strategies. The course explains the science of conventional dark roofs, their environmental effects, and alternatively, the benefits of cool roofs. The course will identify strategies for different types of roofs and discuss how to use ventilation, shading and vegetation in cool roof design.

Learning Objectives:

Learning Objective 1:
Learners will be able to explain the environmental consequences of conventional dark roofs and the benefits of cool roofs.

Learning Objective 2:
Learners will be able to explore and adopt cool roof options, such as maximizing albedo (solar reflectivity).

Learning Objective 3:
Learners will be able to discuss cool roof options for flat and low-sloped roofs and for steep-sloped roofs, as well as perform lifecycle analyses.

Learning Objective 4:
Learners will be able to utilize ventilation, shading and vegetation as cool roof strategies.
