Each webinar session earns continuing education credit and can be registered for individually. All attendees must log-on through their own email – attendees may not watch together if they wish to earn continuing education credit. This webinar is open to the public and is designed to qualify for 7.0 PDHs for professional engineers and 7.0 HSW continuing education hours for licensed architects in Rhode Island. Mr. McWhite is a graduate of Vincennes University. He has served as an inspector and plans examiner in Massachusetts, Georgia, Virginia, and Indiana. He has served on the Massachusetts Construction Supervisor Licensing exam rewriting committee to help transition the exam from the 2009 to the 2015 International Codes, as a member of the International Code Council’s IPMC / IZC Code Development Committee, and as member of the ICC Building Membership Council. Mr. McWhite has earned a combined 21 Certifications from SBCCI (Legacy Code) and ICC including Housing Code Official, Building Code Specialist, Plumbing Code Specialist, Certified Building Official, and is currently 2 certifications away from Master Code Professional.

The primary focus of the course is on chapters 2-11 for building planning, shell construction and energy efficiency. The course also highlights relevant code provisions for mechanical, fuel, plumbing, and electrical systems.

Learning Objective 1: Learners will be able to explore the history, development, adoption, enforcement and future of the International Residential Code 2018 by Rhode Island, as well as the Rhode Island code amendments.

Learning Objective 2: Learners will be able to identify and comply with the Rhode Island residential code requirements for ceiling heights, dwelling unit separations, garage separations, seismic provisions, and snow loads.

Learning Objective 3: Learners will be able to identify and comply with the Rhode Island residential code requirements for foundations, walls, wall coverings, roof assemblies, accessibility and drainage.
