Grant Olsson
Senior Attorney at the Environmental Law Group, in San Diego, CAMr. Olsson is a senior attorney at the Environmental Law Group with experience in a wide variety of environmental litigation and regulatory compliance. His litigation practice encompasses the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA), Clean Water Act, Porter-Cologne Act, CERCLA, RCRA, TSCA, HSAA, and Proposition 65, including hazardous waste cleanup, leaking underground storage tanks, stormwater management at industrial facilities, lead and asbestos disturbances, and land use matters. Mr. Olsson also provides nuanced analysis of potential environmental liabilities and compliance strategies, and works cooperatively with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies. Mr. Olsson received his Juris Doctor from the University of San Diego School of Law in 2017 and his Bachelor of Arts from the University of California, San Diego in 2013. He is admitted to practice in the courts of California and in the United States District Courts for the Southern, Central, and Northern Districts of California.
S. Wayne Rosenbaum
Varco and Rosenbaum; The Environmental Law Group, LLPMr. Rosenbaum is a partner of The Environmental Law Group, LLP, practicing in the areas of environment, land use and natural resources, with an emphasis on water quality and land use laws affecting infrastructure and renewable energy projects. He develops compliance strategies for clients regulated under the storm water provisions of the Clean Water Act, the Endangered Species Act, the California Environmental Quality Act and other state and federal resources statutes. Relying on his broad experience with environmental permits and environmental management systems, Mr. Rosenbaum helps clients develop and implement solutions to environmental regulations that are both legally defensible and economically sustainable. He also assists his clients in defending their regulatory compliance programs against challenges by regulatory agencies and environmental groups.
Erik White, P.E.
President, UEG Consulting, LLC, in Montclair, NJMr. White has over 35 years of experience in engineering, ranging from compliance and industrial wastewater and air treatment system evaluations to remedial study/design projects. Mr. White works with clients across a variety of industries, including iron and steel, utilities, specialty chemicals, food and food additive processing, and petroleum refining. He has expertise in industrial wastewater and stormwater regulatory review and implementation support under the National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Program. Mr. White earned a B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Massachusetts in Amherst and an M.S. degree in Environmental Engineering from the University of Michigan.

Course Description: This six-hour course references and discusses industrial stormwater laws and regulations, analyzes pollutants and total maximum daily loads (TMDLs), reviews stormwater pollution prevention plans (SWPPPs), evaluates best management practices and examines monitoring and reporting procedures.
Learning Objectives:
Learning Objective 1: Learners will be able to examine stormwater pollutants, including suspended solids, oxygen-demanding substances, excess nutrients, metals and other common pollutants, and the development of Total Maximum Daily Loads (TMDLs).
Learning Objective 2: Learners will be able to describe a stormwater pollution prevention plan (SWPPP) and comply with stormwater control measure requirements, provide assessment of activities and materials, describe the facility.
Learning Objective 3: Learners will be able to implement best management practices to achieve “no exposure,” as well as to treat and reuse stormwater.
Learning Objective 4: Learners will be able to engage in monitoring and reporting by setting up monitoring procedures, collecting and evaluating samples, submitting annual reports and modifying BMPs.
