Continuing Education Credit Information

This webinar is open to the public and is designed to qualify for 6.5 PDHs for professional engineers and 6.5 HSW continuing education hours for licensed architects in all states that allow this learning method. Please refer to specific state rules to determine eligibility.

Speakers

Shaunna Mozingo

President of The Mozingo Code group LLC.

Ms. Mozingo is a plans analyst and inspector with Mozingo Code Group, LLC. In addition, she takes great pride in assisting jurisdictions, in the U.S. and Internationally, in adopting their newer Building and Energy Codes and providing education on those adopted codes. She consults and teaches the full family of I-codes but is best known for her work in Energy Codes. Ms. Mozingo has conducted multiple residential and commercial building studies in various states, has been involved on many code development committees locally and nationally, and serves as a Code Circuit Rider in 3 states. She has served as a building inspector for the China and U.S. Solar Decathlon Competitions, co-authored the 2018 Energy Code Essentials for ICC and has been awarded the Department of Energy’s Jeffrey A Johnson Award, ICC/IMT’s Standard Bearer’s Ward and Southwest Energy Efficiency Project’s Leadership in Energy Codes award, all for her work in the advancement of building Energy Codes and building performance. Ms. Mozingo is a past president of the Colorado Chapter of ICC, recipient of the Chapter’s Beryl Wallace Award and President’s Award, and is the past co-chair of the Colorado Chapter’s Education Committee.

Course Title: Complying with Commercial Provisions of the 2021 International Energy Conservation Code

Delivery Method: Live Online

Course Description: This 6.5-hour course examines commercial building code provisions of the 2021 International Energy Conservation Code and focuses on building envelopes and building mechanical systems. It also covers changes in the 2021 IECC, code compliance pathways, and additions, alterations and repairs to existing and/or historic buildings.

Learning Objective 1:
Learners will be able to explain the scope and intent of the IECC, identify which projects the code does and does not apply to, and discuss commercial building energy use.

Learning Objective 2:
Learners will be able to reference and comply with 2021 IECC fenestration requirements by determining the minimum and maximum areas for windows and skylights.

Learning Objective 3:
Learners will be able to reference and comply with 2021 IECC commercial provisions for HVAC systems, service water heating, and power and lighting.

Learning Objective 4:
Learners will be able to reference and comply with 2021 IECC requirements for additions, alterations and repairs to existing buildings, including historic buildings.
