All attendees must log-on through their own email – attendees may not watch together if they wish to earn continuing education credit. HalfMoon Education Inc. must be able to prove attendance if either the attendee or HalfMoon Education Inc. is audited.

Certificates of completion can be downloaded in PDF form upon passing a short quiz. A link to the quiz will be sent to each qualifying attendee immediately after the webinar. The certificate can be downloaded from the Results page of the quiz upon scoring 80% or higher.

This webinar is open to the public and offers 7.0 PDHs to professional engineers and 7.0 HSW continuing education hours to licensed architects in all states.

Wendy Talarico LEED AP

Ms. Talarico is an ICC-certified energy/green code plan reviewer and consults with architects and engineers throughout the Northeast to provide continuing education on a range of subjects from codes to building science. She is an instructor for Urban Green/New York State Energy Research and Development Authority’s “Conquering the Code”, an 8-hour energy code class in New York State. Ms. Talarico was a member of the engineering outreach team for the Brick Industry Association, and she is an award-winning journalist with more than 25 years of experience as a writer and editor for such publications as Architectural Record and This Old House. Her areas of expertise include building energy, sustainability issues, and codes, including the IECC, ASHRAE 90.1, IEBC, and the IgCC.

Course Description: This course examines 2021 International Energy Conservation Code provisions for commercial buildings, building envelopes, and building mechanical systems. It also covers changes in the 2021 IECC and code compliance pathways.

Learning Objectives:

Learning Objective 1:
Learners will be able to reference and comply with general requirements and the compliance pathways of the 2021 IECC’s commercial provisions.

Learning Objective 2:
Learners will be able to reference and comply with 2021 IECC requirements for weather-resistive building envelope barriers, vapor barriers, air barriers and thermal boundaries, insulation thickness, fenestration, doors and entrances, and basement/slab insulation.

Learning Objective 3:
Learners will be able to reference and comply with 2021 IECC provisions for HVAC systems, service water heating, and power and lighting.

Learning Objective 4:
Learners will be able to reference and comply with 2021 IECC requirements for additions, alterations and repairs to existing buildings, including historic buildings.
