Certificates of completion can be downloaded in PDF form upon passing a short quiz. A link to the quiz will be sent to each qualifying attendee immediately after the webinar. The certificate can be downloaded from the Results page of the quiz upon scoring 80% or higher.

Marcus Hazelwood
EA Energy SolutionsMr. Hazelwood is an energy engineering professional with over 15 years of experience. He is a Certified Energy Manager (CEM) and a LEED Accredited Professional (LEED AP BD+C), currently serving as Principal and Director of Building Optimization with EA Energy Solutions, where he leads energy management, analysis, and decarbonization initiatives for clients nationwide. Mr. Hazelwood has developed a deep understanding of energy and sustainability best practices, with extensive experience in energy auditing, high-performance design, sustainability planning, and renewable energy project development.
In addition to his professional experience, he holds a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies from Harvard University. Mr. Hazelwood is an active member of professional organizations including the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE), the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC), and the Green Building Initiative (GBI), and has served as an instructor at Endicott College, teaching green building to graduate architecture students for three consecutive years. He is passionate about advancing energy efficiency and sustainability in the built environment.

Course Description: This two-hour course explores energy code requirements for residential and small commercial building envelopes, with a focus on achieving compliance through both prescriptive and performance-based pathways. Topics include energy modeling options in addition to a modeling session.

Learning Objective 1: Learners will be able to identify energy code requirements for residential and small commercial building envelopes.
Learning Objective 2: Learners will be able to compare prescriptive code compliance and performance-based alternatives.
Learning Objective 3: Learners will be able to describe energy modeling tools and how they are used to assess envelope design.
