Please note, if you attempt to resume watching the video on a separate device, your progress will not be saved.

You will have unlimited access to the on-demand video recording, and it will never expire.

Continuing Education Credit Information
This webinar is open to the public and is designed to qualify for 4.0 PDHs for professional engineers and 4.0 HSW continuing education hours for licensed architects in all states that allow this learning method. Please refer to specific state rules to determine eligibility.

Building Inspector for SAFEbuilt, Inc.Mr. Iliff has been a certified building official for 10+ years serving communities in Texas, Illinois, and Missouri. He has taught classes on the residential, building, and property maintenance codes with a focus on preparing students for certification exams and effective administration. Mr. Iliff has 30+ years of experience and certifications as a city planner, floodplain manager, and code enforcement officer. He earned an undergraduate degree in Urban Planning and Development from Ball State University.

Course Description: This 4-hour course focuses on chapter 11 of the 2024 International Building Code: Accessibility. The course will address federal laws, regulatory standards, and enforcement practices. The course also focuses on accessibility requirements for routes, exteriors, parking, entrances, dwelling units, plumbing facilities, seating areas, signage, and both mixed and special use buildings.
Learning Objectives:
Learning Objective 1:
Learners will be able to explore the federal laws and regulatory standards that govern accessibility, understanding their impact on building design and construction.
Learning Objective 2:
Learners will be able to explain the scope of accessibility requirements, including enforcement and inspection procedures, to ensure that buildings are designed and maintained to be accessible to all individuals.
Learning Objective 3:
Learners will be able to identify the specific accessibility standards for routes, exteriors, parking areas, entrances, dwelling and sleeping units, plumbing facilities, seating areas, and signage.
Learning Objective 4:
Learners will be able to analyze the accessibility considerations for mixed uses, separated and non-separated uses, and special hazards, ensuring that diverse building scenarios meet the necessary accessibility and safety standards.
