Electrical Engineering Discipline Lead, Partner at BKV Group in Minneapolis

Mr. Kurdi has been serving the electrical industry for over 30 years as an electrical engineer, electrician, and electrical trainer. Mr. Kurdi has worked as an electrical engineer and electrician at many engineering firms and electrical companies. Currently Mr. Kurdi is the head of the electrical engineering group at BKV Group (Architectural & Engineering Firm) in Minneapolis. Mr. Kurdi has a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and a Master’s degree in Adult Education. He is a registered electrical engineer (PE) in 37 states. Mr. Kurdi holds a Class A master electrician license from the State of Minnesota. Mr. Kurdi was an electrical instructor and department director at Dunwoody College of Technology in Minneapolis for 12 years. He is also an electrical trainer for Electrical Association (Minneapolis) for 19 years. He has developed and taught thousands of seminar hours over the years. The seminars include NEC Code, electrician’s exam prep, MV system, electrical wiring, electrical apprenticeship, estimation & project management, electrical design and AutoCAD & Revit MEP.

Course Title: 2023 National Electrical Code Update

Course Description: This eight-hour course analyzes the changes and updates to the National Electrical Code effective in 2023. The course includes chapters 1-9 and examines over 70 specific articles of the code.

Learners will be able to analyze Chapter 2 of the National Electrical Code, including branch circuits, feeders, overcurrent protection, grounding and bonding, and focus on relevant updates.

Learning Objective 2:
Learners will be able to comply with Chapter 3 of the National Electrical Code and its updates impacting conductors for general wiring, armored cables, rigid metal conduits, cable trays, insulated bus pipe and more.

Learning Objective 3:
Learners will be able to reference updates to Chapter 4 of the National Electrical Code, specifically to switches, receptacles, appliances, air-conditioning, transformers, capacitors, resistors and more.

Learning Objective 4:
