Continuing Education Credit Information

This seminar is open to the public and offers 7.0 PDHs to professional engineers and 7.0 HSW CEPHs/continuing education hours to architects in all states. Educators and courses are not subject to pre-approval in Texas.

The American Institute of Architects has approved this event for 7.0 HSW Learning Units (Sponsor No. J885). Only full attendance can be reported to the AIA/CES.

Speakers

Aloysius Attah

University of North Texas (UNT)

Aloysius (Al) Attah, P.E. is an engineering faculty member at the University of North Texas (UNT) where he teaches construction engineering and management courses. Prior to joining UNT, he taught at both Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and DeVry University. His teaching and research interests include lean project delivery systems, operations management, construction safety, and quality systems. Al has more than 30 years of engineering and management experience in the aerospace, manufacturing, and construction industries. He is the founder of MACVAL Associates LLC – an engineering and construction firm based in Dallas, Texas. In 2010, MACVAL Associates was featured as a case study in a ground-breaking text book titled Modern Construction: Lean Project Delivery and Integrated Practices. Before establishing MACVAL, he spent 17 years with the Boeing Company holding various engineering and management positions in support of the design and manufacture of 737, 747, 757, 767, and 777 airplane models. Al obtained his BS degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Dayton and his MS degree in Industrial Engineering from the University of Texas at Arlington. His PhD work is in Management (Information Systems) from Walden University. He is a licensed professional engineer (P.E.) in Texas. He is also certified in production and inventory management (CPIM) by APICS. Al is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and Institute of Industrial & Systems Engineers. He was a past national president of the Construction Division of Institute of Industrial & Systems Engineers.
