This seminar is open to the public and offers 7.0 (HSW) continuing education hours to architects and 7.0 continuing education hours to engineers in Virginia. Educators and courses are not subject to preapproval in Virginia.

Architects and engineers seeking continuing education credit in other states will be able to apply the hours earned at this seminar, in some cases. Refer to specific state rules to determine eligibility.
The International Code Council has approved this program for .7 CEUs in the specialty area of Building (Preferred Provider No. 1232).
This course offers 7.0 continuing education hours to DHCD building officials, property maintenance officials, and technical assistants employed by a jurisdiction. Educators and courses are not subject to preapproval.
This seminar offers a continuing education opportunity to construction contractors but has not been approved by any state contractor licensing entity.
Attendance will be monitored, and attendance certificates will be available after the seminar for most individuals who complete the entire program. Attendance certificates not available at the seminar will be mailed to participants within fifteen business days.
Speakers
William "Rick" Hinson, C.B.O. P.E. in VA. MD. and MD
Mr. Hinson has 43 years of experience in engineering. He has provided a wide range of construction and facility-related services to clients including systems testing, design, failure analysis, code review and project management. Mr. Hinson has served as an engineer, plans examiner, building official and as a principal in an engineering firm. He is experienced in multi-disciplined engineering, power generation, construction, forensics and building code enforcement. Mr. Hinson’s experience also includes building teams of professionals, performing cost and benefit evaluations, developing and streamlining policies and procedures to improve unit skills, and coordinating process across corporate structures. Additionally, he has provided code compliance plans review, construction administration, special inspection services, lectures, instruction, and management.
