Continuing Education Credit Information
This seminar is open to the public and offers 6.5 HSW (Public Protection) continuing education hours to architects, 6.5 continuing education hours to landscape architects, and 6.5 PDHs to professional engineers in most states, including Georgia. Educators and courses are not subject to preapproval in Georgia.
This seminar is approved by the American Institute of Architects for 6.5 HSW Learning Units (Provider No. J885) and the Landscape Architect Continuing Education System for 6.5 HSW PDHs.
The Association of State Floodplain Managers has approved this course for 6.5 CECs for certified floodplain managers.
This seminar also offers a non-mandatory continuing education opportunity for contractors. It has not been reviewed by any state contractor licensing entity.
Attendance will be monitored, and attendance certificates will be available after the seminar for most individuals who complete the entire event. Attendance certificates not available at the seminar will be mailed to participants within fifteen business days.
Speakers
Corey Babb
Georgia Power CompanyGeorgia Power Company, AtlantaMr. Babb has 20 years of professional and educational experience in the environmental planning, management, and regulatory professions. He has coordinated work for multiple local governments and agencies, and he has developed and maintained positive relationships with local, state and federal regulatory agencies as well as the diverse stakeholder groups in the region. He has a successful track record of regulatory negotiation and innovative approaches to stormwater management and regulatory compliance. Mr. Babb has obtained Georgia’s Level 1A, 1B, II and trainer certifications for erosion and sedimentation control. He earned his B.S. degree in Biology from Berry College and his M.P.A. degree in Natural Resource Management/Water Policy from Georgia State University. He serves as the construction stormwater subject matter expert for the Georgia Power Company where he is responsible for permitting and oversight compliance of all existing and new generation, transmission, distribution and renewables projects statewide.
