Daniel Frondorf, CPE, CDT
DG Frondorf and Associates LLC, CincinnatiMr. Frondorf owns and operates Cincinnati-based DG Frondorf and Associates LLC, a construction cost estimating consulting firm. He is a member of Consulting Estimator’s Round Table (CERT), AACE, and the American Society of Professional Estimators (ASPE). He has 25 years of service as a construction estimator, and has presented several seminars on estimating practices and ethical bidding topics to trade associations and at industry events. Mr. Frondorf is also a past instructor of construction estimating at the University of Cincinnati and has guest lectured there and at Cincinnati State Technical and Community College. He has also written several articles on estimating related topics in Estimating Today and Design Cost Data magazines.

Course Description: This 6.5 hour live lecture presentation covers the different types of cost estimates, construction estimating resources and processes, estimating labor, equipment, overhead and profit, risk analysis, managing subcontractors, and using construction estimating software.

Learners will be able to identify and utilize construction cost estimating resources and processes, and they will be able to explain the role of the estimator as an identifier and mitigator of risk.

Learners will be able to work as a member of a cost estimating group to estimate different components of a construction project.

Learners will be able to distinguish between different kinds of construction cost estimates, (design, bid, and control) and be able to explain which type is best for the project owner and project.

Learners will be able to apply processes and strategies to estimate costs for labor, equipment, overhead, and profit, and they will be able to identify and assess industry-standard software to assist in estimating costs.
