Continuing Education Credit Information
This seminar is open to the public and offers 6.5 HSW continuing education hours to Vermont architects and 6.5 non-mandatory continuing education hours to Vermont professional engineers. Educators and courses for architects are not subject to preapproval in Vermont.
This seminar is approved by the American Institute of Architects for 6.5 HSW Learning Units (Sponsor No. J885).
Architects and engineers seeking continuing education credit outside Vermont will be able to claim the hours earned at this seminar, in most cases. Due to Vermont-specific course content, this seminar is not eligible for New York architect and engineering continuing education credit.
The Building Performance Institute has awarded 1.86 CEUs for the completion of this seminar.
The International Code Council has approved this event for 6.5 contact hours (.65 CEUs) in the specialty area of energy.
This seminar offers construction contractors a continuing education activity; it has not been approved by any state contractor licensing entity with a continuing education requirement.
Attendance will be monitored, and attendance certificates will be available after the seminar for most individuals who complete the entire event. Attendance certificates not available at the seminar will be mailed to participants within fifteen business days.

Arthur “Art” Pakatar, LEED Green Associate, CEA
The Pakatar GroupMr. Pakatar is the principal of The Pakatar Group, a firm dedicated to the built environment. He is an industry veteran with several years of experience teaching home performance and construction-related topics. Mr. Pakatar holds certifications from the International Code Council, the Association of Energy Engineers, the Building Performance Institute, the U.S. Green Building Council and RESNET. He is a certified code enforcement officer in New York State and holds the energy code inspector and plans examiner credentials with ICC. Over the past 10 years Mr. Pakatar has prepared and delivered training to code enforcement officers, design professionals and other construction industry stakeholders throughout the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. He has taught throughout the United States. Having participated in creating protocols on several pertinent topics, Mr. Pakatar is considered a subject matter expert on those topics.
