Principal Engineer at NTH Consultants, Ltd.Dr. Khasawneh is a principal engineer with NTH Consultants in Northville, Michigan. He has over 15 years of industrial experience in the US and overseas, working on projects in North and South America, Africa and Asia. Dr. Khasawneh’s areas of expertise include geotechnical engineering, geostructural engineering, instrumentation, soil and rock dynamics, numerical simulations (finite difference, finite element, and distinct element), forensic engineering, and construction vibrations. Dr. Khasawneh is active in industry, academia, and applied research. He has conducted seminars on soil-structure interaction, numerical simulations, and seismic site response. Dr. Khasawneh is co-advising Ph.D. students working on thermal piles and response of underground structures to seismic loading. Dr. Khasawneh received his Ph.D., M.S., and Bachelor degrees in Civil Engineering from Purdue University, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and Jordan University of Science and Technology, respectively. He is a registered professional engineer in the state of Michigan. Dr. Khasawneh is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), the Geo-Institute (GI), and the Deep Foundation Institute (DFI). He is currently a member of technical committees on soil properties and modeling (GI), computational geotechnics (GI), seismic & lateral loads (DFI), and thermal foundations (DFI).
