Mr. Suraci is a national leader in active transportation and complete streets. His experience spans the public, private and nonprofit sectors, and includes management of high-profile projects such as the Long Island Greenway plan, and the New York Cycling Census. In addition to facilitating more than 40 complete street workshops in New York State, Mr. Suraci authored the American Public Transit Association’s National Guide to Bicycle Integration with Transit and served as the lead subject matter expert for ‘Extending Transit’s Reach’ MTA’s first ever strategic action plan for bicycles, pedestrians and micromobility. Currently he is a key team member on the development of NYSDOT’s Statewide Active Transportation Plan and is leading the bicycle and pedestrian element of NYMTC’s 2055 Long Range Transportation Plan, as well as a systemwide active transportation inventory for the State University of New York (SUNY). Outside of work, Mr. Suraci is a passionate cyclist biking as his primary mode of transportation.
