Carter S. Smith , Ph.D.

Dr. Carter Smith is an Assistant Professor in the School of Aquatic and Fishery Sciences at the University of Washington. Dr. Smith is an interdisciplinary coastal ecologist whose interests lie at the intersection of multiple disciplines including community ecology, conservation and restoration science, and coupled human natural systems research. In particular, she strives to pursue sustainable and adaptive conservation and restoration solutions that benefit people and the environment and enhance coastal community resilience. Dr. Smith has a B.A. from Wesleyan University and a Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
