Bill Shuster , Ph.D.

Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Wayne State University, in Detroit, MI

Dr. Shuster is an expert in the area of wastewater and stormwater management, with specialized experience in landscape hydrologic and hydraulic assessments so that design and management actions are based on actual data, thereby reducing assumptions and supporting effective engineering practice. Dr. Shuster has worked in various capacities for USEPA, USDOJ, US Dept of State, then came to Wayne State University to the Civil and Environmental Engineering Dept. in 2019, and after serving a full-term as Department Chair, is currently a professor teaching courses in urban hydrology, hydrologic analysis, and technical communication; and researching urbanized soils, advanced techniques to monitor evapotranspiration and other hydrologic fluxes in urban areas, and retrofit strategies for onsite stormwater management.
